How We Use AI on This Site: Images, Labels and Human Review
Some of the images on this site are made with generative AI, and some of the text is drafted with AI help. This page says exactly where, how each AI image is labelled on the page and in its file, and how every page is checked by a person before it is published.
Where AI is used
AI is used in two places on boxingbetting.co.uk. The first is images: 45 of the 53 pictures on the site were generated with an AI image model, and the other 8 are photographs from Wikimedia Commons. The second is writing: AI tools help draft and check some of the text. AI is not used to set the bookmaker scores, which follow the fixed method on our how we rate page, and it is not used in the calculators or quizzes, which run fixed formulas in your browser.
No text on the site is presented as reporting on a real fight. The guides explain how boxing markets, scoring and settlement rules work in general; where a page gives an example price or a sample scorecard, it is an illustration, and it says so. We do not name boxers or describe real bouts.
AI-generated images
Every AI image on the site is labelled in three places, so the label is visible however you meet it:
- The badge. A small “AI” mark sits in the corner of the image itself.
- The caption. The caption under the image starts with the words “AI-generated image.” in bold.
- The alt text. The text alternative read by screen readers ends with “(AI-generated image)”.
The label is also written into the files. Every size and format of each AI image, JPEG, WebP and AVIF, carries the IPTC Digital Source Type value trained
Why use AI images at all? The site deliberately shows no people, so photographs of fighters or crowds are not an option, and freely licensed photographs of boxing equipment and empty venues are limited in number. Every page also needs its own image: the same picture is never used on two pages. AI images fill those gaps, and the labels make sure nobody mistakes one of them for a photograph of a real place.
Images without these labels are photographs. They come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences, each caption names the author and the licence, and the full list with links to the original files is on our photo credits page.
Human review
Every guide, review and tool page is reviewed by our editorial team before it is published. Facts are checked against their sources: settlement rules against bookmakers’ betting rules, offer terms against the offer as published on the date shown, and regulatory facts, such as the ban on credit cards for gambling since 14 April 2020, against official sources. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, it is left out rather than guessed. The calculators are checked against worked examples before they go live.
If you think something on the site is wrong, or that an image is labelled incorrectly, the about page explains how to reach us. You can start from the home page to see how the labels look in practice.
Questions people ask
6 questions answered
How can I tell whether an image on this site is AI-generated?
Look for three things: a small “AI” badge in the corner of the image, a caption that starts with “AI-generated image.”, and alt text that ends with “(AI-generated image)”. An image without them is a photograph, credited in its caption.
Do the AI images show real people or real fights?
No. None of the images on this site shows a person, and none claims to show a real fight, venue or event. They show equipment and empty rings to illustrate the topic of a page.
What is trainedAlgorithmicMedia?
It is a value from the IPTC Digital Source Type vocabulary that marks a file as created by a generative AI model. We write it into the metadata of every size and format of each AI image, so the label survives when the file is downloaded or shared.
Is the text on this site written by AI?
AI tools are used to help draft and check some of the text. Every page is reviewed by our editorial team before it is published, and the facts on it, such as the rules we describe, are checked against their sources. Offer terms are our dated summaries of the offer as published.
Are the tools and calculators AI?
No. The calculators and quizzes run fixed formulas and fixed data in your browser. The same input always gives the same answer, and nothing you enter is sent anywhere.
Where are the photographs from?
The photographs that are not AI-generated come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences. Each one names its author and licence in its caption, and all of them are listed on our photo credits page.
