Ladbrokes Boxing Odds and Betting Review: Coverage and House Rules

Ladbrokes is the high-street name with shops as well as an app, and a total-rounds line on most headline fights. We looked at what it covers on a fight night, how to judge its prices against the market, in-play between rounds and its house rules. It also has a welcome offer that starts from a £5 bet.

R1Ladbrokes at a glance

Ladbrokes is licensed by the Gambling Commission under account 54743, and we checked its entry on the Commission’s public register on Friday 9 October 2026. A bookmaker without that licence does not appear in our standings at all, so the licence score of 10 is a pass mark rather than a point of difference: every one of the nine has it.

The overall score is 7.8 out of 10, sixth of the nine. The card is steady rather than spectacular: nothing below a 7 and two 8s, for its rules on void fights and for payments. Its welcome offer has no bearing on the score.

R2What Ladbrokes covers on fight night

On a headline fight, Ladbrokes starts where every bookmaker does, with the three-way fight result: the red corner, the blue corner or the draw. Its signature on boxing is the total-rounds line, which it carries on most headline fights. Total rounds sets a figure such as 8.5 or 9.5 and asks whether the fight ends before or after it, whoever lands the finish. It suits a view about how a fight will go rather than who will come out on top: two heavy punchers with poor defence point to the under, two careful boxers to the over.

Markets per fight score 7, level with Coral, Midnite and LeoVegas and two points behind bet365. A 7 means the core markets are there on the main event; a 9 adds more of them on more fights, with more ways to combine method and round. The undercard also scores 7, which puts Ladbrokes a point ahead of Coral, Midnite and LeoVegas on that criterion. The score measures how far down a card of eight or ten bouts the markets go beyond a fight-result price.

The half-round in the line is where most confusion starts. Most UK bookmakers treat half a round as one minute thirty seconds of a three-minute round, so “over 8.5 rounds” needs the fight to pass the halfway point of round nine. A stoppage at 1:10 of round nine settles as under; one at 2:00 of the same round settles as over. A fight that goes the full scheduled distance settles as over any line below it. In a twelve-round fight, a line of 8.5 or 9.5 is typical when the bookmaker expects a stoppage to be likely but not certain; a line of 10.5 or 11.5 says it expects the fight to go long.

Two things change the settlement of a total-rounds bet. If the scheduled number of rounds changes before the fight, the line was set for a different distance and bets are usually void. If the fight is stopped early and goes to the cards as a technical decision, the line is settled on the round and time of the stoppage at most books, but the wording varies. For every market in detail, see our boxing betting markets guide.

R3Ladbrokes prices against the market

People who search for Ladbrokes boxing odds, or simply for Ladbrokes boxing, are usually after the price on one fighter. We judge a book on something else: the margin across all three outcomes. Convert each price to an implied chance and add them. A book of 8/11 on the favourite, 11/8 on the underdog and 25/1 on the draw implies 57.9%, 42.1% and 3.8%, a total of 103.8%. The 3.8% above 100 is the margin. On a book balanced across all three outcomes, it means the bookmaker expects to keep about 3.7p of every £1 staked on that fight.

One thing sets Ladbrokes apart from most online-only bookmakers: it has shops as well as an app. The price on a shop board and the price in the app are not guaranteed to be the same, and neither tells you whether the price is good. For that, set the three prices next to another bookmaker’s on the same fight in our bookmaker margin calculator. The book with the smaller total is the fairer one, and the difference between two books on a big fight is often a few percentage points.

The margin is widest in the markets built on the result. A total-rounds line has only two sides, so there is less room for margin to build up; a round-betting market with more than two dozen selections has far more. Our guide to round market margins explains why.

R4In-play between rounds

In-play scores 7. Boxing in-play has its own rhythm: at many bookmakers the market is suspended while a round is fought, and the real repricing happens in the minute between rounds. That minute is where a knockdown, a cut or a fighter who has stopped throwing shows up in the price. The in-play score measures which boxing markets the bookmaker lists in-play: the fight result only, or method and total rounds as well.

The Ladbrokes score is a point below William Hill and LeoVegas and two below bet365, which lists the widest range of in-play markets of the nine. Streaming is not scored: the rights change with every card, so check on the day whether a fight can be watched. In-play margins run wider than those before the fight, and a price that looks generous in the interval deserves a second look.

R5House rules for boxing

Ladbrokes scores 8 for its rules on void fights, among the best on this criterion in our standings. The rules matter more in boxing than in most sports, because fights change more often: they are postponed, an opponent is replaced late, or a bout is stopped after a clash of heads and goes to the cards early.

  • Postponed fight. Most UK bookmakers keep a bet open if the same two boxers meet within a period set in the rules; outside that period it is void and the stake returned.
  • Replacement opponent. Usually treated as a different fight, so bets on the original bout are void.
  • Scheduled rounds changed. The fight result usually stands; round and total-rounds bets are usually void, because the line was set for a different distance.
  • No contest. Fight-result bets are usually void; markets already decided before the stoppage can vary.

Read the Ladbrokes boxing rules once before your first bet. Our settlement guide goes through each scenario, market by market.

R6Banking

Payments score 8. Every licensed bookmaker in Great Britain works to the same payment rules, so the card you use in a Ladbrokes shop is the kind you use online: a debit card, never a credit card. The cashier on your account shows which methods are open to you, and withdrawals usually go back to the method used to deposit.

The first withdrawal takes longest, because identity checks must be complete first. Verify your account the week before a fight you plan to bet on, and set a deposit limit before the first deposit rather than after it.

R7Welcome offer and terms

The offer is “Bet £5, get £30 in Free Bets”, and its key terms, summarised from the offer as published on 30 September and 1 October 2026, are at the top of this page and in the box below; the bookmaker’s own terms are the ones that apply. In plain words: it is for new customers in the UK and Ireland aged 18 or over. You deposit and bet £5 or more at odds of 1/2 or longer within 14 days of registering. You then receive six £5 free bets, four for any sports market, one for a football bet builder and one for a horse racing bet builder, valid for seven days, and the stake is not returned with the payout.

Three points matter on a fight. A £5 qualifying bet is half what most of the offers ask, the same as at Coral, and the 1/2 minimum lets a moderate favourite qualify. Only four of the six free bets can go on boxing; the two bet builders are for football and horse racing. And the 14-day window to qualify means you can sign up in the week before a card and still use the free bets on it. All nine offers are compared on our boxing offers page.

R8Who Ladbrokes suits

Ladbrokes suits a punter who bets on the headline fight and likes the total-rounds market. Its card has no weak spot below a 7 and scores 8 for the rules that decide a changed fight, which counts for a lot in this sport. It is less suited to someone who wants a long list of specials or deep markets on early undercard bouts.

If you are new to fight betting, start with our guide to betting on boxing. For comparison, Coral has a similar boxing menu and William Hill scores higher on markets and in-play. The full standings are on our boxing betting homepage.

FAQ

Ladbrokes questions

10 questions answered

Is Ladbrokes a licensed UK bookmaker?

Yes. Ladbrokes holds a Gambling Commission licence, which we checked on the Commission’s public register on Friday 9 October 2026. That licence covers age checks, deposit limits and membership of GamStop.

Does Ladbrokes have a boxing welcome offer?

Yes. At the time of writing it is “Bet £5, get £30 in Free Bets” for new UK and Irish customers aged 18 or over. You deposit and bet £5 or more at odds of 1/2 or longer within 14 days of registering and get six £5 free bets: four for any sports market, which can go on a fight, one for a football bet builder and one for a horse racing bet builder. They last seven days. All nine offers are compared on our boxing free bets and offers page.

Are Ladbrokes online boxing odds the same as in its shops?

Not necessarily. Online and shop prices are set separately, and Ladbrokes does not promise that they match, so check the price on the board or the screen at the moment you bet. Shop prices can also change during the day as money comes in, so compare the price on the screen with the one on the slip before you confirm.

What is a total rounds bet at Ladbrokes?

Total rounds sets a line such as 8.5 and asks whether the fight ends before or after it, whoever lands the finish. Ladbrokes carries a total-rounds line on most headline fights; our markets guide explains how a stoppage mid-round is counted.

Why does Ladbrokes score 7.8 out of 10?

It scores 10 for its licence, 8 for void-fight rules and for payments, and 7 for markets, undercard and in-play. The average is 7.8, sixth of the nine bookmakers we review, just ahead of Coral and LeoVegas at 7.7.

How do I compare Ladbrokes boxing odds with another bookmaker?

Convert the three prices on a fight to implied chances and add them up; the total above 100% is the margin. Put Ladbrokes next to another book in our fight margin calculator and the smaller total is the fairer price on that fight.

Can I bet on boxing in-play at Ladbrokes?

Yes. In-play scores 7, a point below William Hill and LeoVegas, for the range of markets it lists in-play. As at many bookmakers, boxing prices usually move most in the minute between rounds. In-play margins are wider than those before the fight, so check the price again before you bet.

What happens to a Ladbrokes boxing bet if a fighter misses weight?

Rules on missed weight differ between bookmakers, and the wording matters more than the headline. Read the Ladbrokes boxing rules, and our rules guide, before you bet.

Can I deposit at Ladbrokes with a credit card?

No. Online, as in its shops, Ladbrokes takes no credit cards. Use a UK-permitted method such as a debit card; the cashier shows which ones are available on your account.

How do I get help if betting on boxing stops being fun?

Set a deposit limit or take a time-out in your account settings, or block every licensed site at once with GamStop. Free, confidential support is available from the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 and from GamCare.
